Soul Pittwater was started in September 2006 with a group of teens and young adults that would meet on a Thursday night to pray, break open the word of God and be in fellowship with other. 

 

It is now 2014! Looking back over the years SOUL has done alot! 

 

In 2007 a group of 20 people from the Pittwater Parish and Mater Maria Catholic College travelled to Cambodia to build houses for the poorest of the poor. The Parish community raised over $30,000 - enough to build 18 houses and change the lives of 18 families in the process. 

 

 

2008 included SOUL's first ever SOUL camp and World Youth Day in Sydney, which was a key part of SOUL Pittwater's growth as a ministry, and God raised up many young leaders to take us on our journey in the future. Soul had a music performance at the Sydney Convention Centre for WYD SYD. We also had a contingent at the 2008 Exo Day at Sydney Showground, the inaugral 2008 iWitness Festival, the 2008 Lighthouse Festival, and Blackstump 2008.

 

 

In 2009 we returned to Cambodia with an even bigger group of students and parishioners and during the year held some big fundraising concerts such as 'Songs for Soibada' at Mater Maria CC. In 2010 we had another contingent at Lighthouse and Blackstump and SSE. 2011 saw 25 members of 100% Soul go to Madrid for WYD which included performing songs in front of thousands and Stephen Maiolo joined at Junior Youth Minister and Josh Willard joined as Music Director.

 

 

2012 was another fruitful year with another amazing house building trip to Cambodia and a contingent at the ACYMC in Campbelltown.

 

2013 was a spirit filled year with amazing fellowship and sharing of the word of God. Soul had a contingent at the 2013 DOJ Summer School in Bathurst, Broken Bay Spark Retreat, the Light To The Nations Retreat, the 2013 BBYMC, WYD13 RIo, the inaugral Broken Bay Youth Vinnies Winter Sleepout at St Leo's, all 4 BB Praise & Worship nights and the inaugral Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Melbourne. It hosted the 2nd of 4 BB Praise & Worship Nights and it included the launch of the young adult ministry 'Heart & Soul'.

 

 

2014 begun with a bang with the 2014 Soul Sessions Launch Night in Feb and a contingent that went to the 2014 Summer School in Bathurst. Soul had a contingent at the 3 Praise & Worship nights so far of 2014, as well as the 2014 BBYMC. Term 3 just had the 100% Soul Launch with a South American Social Night. Soul had a contingent at the 'Awakening' Youth Rally in Chatswood with our very own Simon Hyland part of the band! We are planning social justice activities for the future at the moment and we can't wait to get these up and running.
